Google not indexing my new websites

I created 2 new websites 10 days ago and a week ago I also built some backlinks (blog posts) for these 2 sites and Google still hasn't indexed these websites. How long can it take? Is this normal? Usually when I build a new website with some links to it, it takes 3-5 days to Google to index it.

Sometimes it can be quick, sometimes it can take a long time. Are they good backlinks on good PR blogs?

Takes 3- 5 days ; well i do not want to make me big webmaster , but i currently own 3 of the top sites (according to alexa , my sites are within first 1500) , and most of them took around 2 - 3 Months when i saw my link came up on google pages , earlier in 2007 - 08 there was no webmaster checkup in Google. , i was not even known that my sitemap got accepted by google bots , yes or no.

Cheers , Advice : W8 and be patient , to create a good site , it takes time , and now with all those fucking algorithm changes which was done by google in feb , it really costed many of my friends sites to get banned , or got their PR Ranked less. so just submit sitemaps and keep check of all back-links of your site.
    Best of Luck ....

googlebots crawl and indexing frequency greatly depends on pagerank and the frequency you update its contents.

Do you have a sitemap? Did you submit your sitemap to google? Did you submit your site in google? If these questions answers are yes, then it should not take 7 days to index your site.

I've had a site take as long as 3 weeks to index so nothing to worry about. Social bookmarks and dofollow forums can help it get indexed faster.

Do couple of things for quick indexing-1. Visit the site frequently, 2. Send link to friends or anyone you know personally via Gmail, 3. Tweet, Stumble and share in Facebook, 4. Do not submit sitemap till you find your home page at least indexed, 5. With in 24-48 hours or possibly in less time your site will get indexed

Thank you all for your replies. I've built just a few links so far and they are not from websites with strong PR, so I just probably have to wait more like WeCreateCash said.

Does the latest Google's update called Penguin have anything in common with my problem? - does it now take longer to Google to index a new website? Anyone has any information on this?
