These types of videos you want to go Viral. You should share them on Facebook,Google+ and Twitter. Its the act of getting people to re share them is what will get you some momentum.

This might be basic but really working. Add appropriate tags and common keywords that will resemble your youtube video. Then as for the marketing / making it popular, find some place (websites) where your video is related. It might take time and be patient, nothing comes instant after some hardwork. Keep doing what it right and you will reap what you saw.
After adding your video at youtube you can word about it on Social media channels like Facebook and Twitter. It will drive interested people to your video and it will increase the number of views for your video that's a major ranking factor for you tube videos.
Yeah, social media is a good channel to go viral these days; and the point is actually having good content, which is attractive for more people to share. BTW, pets is popular topic, and yours should be able to get quite some attention.
