Hi everyone I'm having some issues with 3 proxy sites (glype v1.4.1 script)... I'm looking for advice to host it in the best place. This are my stats overall on 3 sites: ~12000 visits per day 220k page views per day 12TB Month 900 unique users (max 2000) @ peak hours for 4-6 hours constantly (blocked iran, china and russia due to resources issues) Don't blame be but I'm using 2x godaddy 4GH ultimate plans that's why I don't know how much ram/cpu i'm using right now. I have been using godaddy for like 1 month and 2 weeks and they run perfectly fine, no lags or anything. budget? you name it since I really don't know how many ram/cpu they takes. I was looking @ kimsufi.ie (ovh) 16G plan, since it have plenty RAM ( I don't like the idea of 100mbps with ~1000 users @ peak hours) but later I can move to 1gbps or more. btw sorry for some syntax/verbs errors.
As Dlinchevskiy suggested dedicated would be best, I would say something in dual core minimum (not an atom dual core mind you). The biggest thing you are going to have to look out for is how much bandwidth you are going to get and a port that is 100Mbps or better. 10Mbps will not be sufficient to support the throughput you have mentioned. You might be able to get away with using a VPS however a dedicated server (or even cloud based server) would be a far better option. Based on the throughput you mentioned you might want to look at getting a 100MBit unmetered port but server costs aside they usually cost 200+USD a month just for the port upgrade. It really depends on how much you are making from the site, if you can give us some sort of budget that would be appreciated, I mean we can make recommendations all we like but based on what you have specified I would be looking at 150+ USD a month as a starting ballpark. You will definitely need a dedicated server - you won't be able to host on a VPS. What would your preferred location? Europe or USA? Budget?
Yesterday i contacted hostgator and x10hosting regarding backingup and site restorations. This is how the story went. I think everybody should read this http://galaxiess2.blogspot.com/2012/05/how-did-this-all-start-i-will-narrate.html
For your proxy site, both vps/ dedicated server hosting options are suitable. This is your choice as per your need. I want to just suggest considering the network speed, massive storage, and bandwidth. I think as per the required features DedicatedCore is best suitable option where you can get a variety of VPS plans that cater well to proxy services, providing scalable resources, high-performance SSD storage, and reliable uptime. Their user-friendly interface and extensive documentation make it easy to set up and manage your proxy site. Additionally, DedicatedCore offers robust security features, including firewalls and DDoS protection, to keep your proxy site safe and secure.
Shared hosting is not perfect in your site visitors. Consider a VPS with eight cores CPU, 32 GB RAM, and 1 Gbps bandwidth (Vultr, DigitalOcean, Linode). For ultimate control, explore devoted servers from OVH (kimsufi.Ie) but be careful for bandwidth barriers on lower tiers. Focus on server region and safety. Managed alternatives are to be had if server management is a challenge.
