dofollow - you are telling search engines (bots / spiders) to follow the link and crawl the link.

nofollow is you are barring them from going to the next page.

    Hi,

Do Follow - Do-follow links provide better "link juice" for improve your website in search engine rankings.

No Follow - Search engines only count do-follow links. If any link that is with no-follow attribute, its clear massage telling search engines to ignore it. No-follow links can often be highly context-relevant, and come from sources that are likely to generate greater levels of referral traffic.

    Thanks,

    hi,

do follow links are recognized as plus point for back linking and the links will be crawled by the search engines spider.no follow simply means that the webmaster does not want to do anything with the link.
Having a mixture of nofollow and dofollow backlinks pointing to your site would make your link profile look more natural.

    have a nice day

Building backlinks to your site is an important strategy for any internet marketer. However, not all links are equally valuable, and some may even be worthless. Many blogs, forums and article directories add an attribute called nofollow to their outbound links to discourage people from spamming the site with irrelevant links.

A normal dofollow link on a web site will look something like this:

    <a href="http://www.link.com">Link</a>

To make an individual link nofollow, the value is added to the rel attribute in the html link tag:

    <a href="http://www.link.com" rel="nofollow">Link</a>

It is also possible to make all links on a page nofollow by using the meta robots tag in the head-section of the html page:

    <meta name="robots" content="nofollow" />

The nofollow attribute was developed in 2005 by Google to help combat link spam in the comment section of blogs. It was designed so that webmasters could attach it to all unwanted links that are unrelated to their site, so that Google could improve the quality of their search engine results.

In search engines, every link can be considered a “vote” for the site linked to. A link from a site with high page rank, trust and authority is considered a more valuable vote and will pass on more “link juice” than a link from a low ranked site. What the nofollow attribute does is that it tells the search engine spiders to ignore the link and not pass any link juice to the site, making the link almost useless from a search engine optimization perspective.

Basically a Do follow link is a normal hyper link which send search engine bots to the target page with the source page credits. if you get that link from a high ranked page then google bot will mark that your blog has connections and trust from high ranked pages, thats why most SEO providers focused on creating Do follow links.

No Follow links are also normal hyperlinks but modified with rel="nofollow" attribute. if you want to create a nofollow link on your posts just add <a href="your link" rel=nofollow></a> that attribute will block search engine bots to follow that URL from that page. Lots of Administrators of high traffic web sites make their web sites and blogs nofollow by default to stop getting lots of spam comments only for getting a quality backlinks. so every link you make will be no follow on those sites.

    Hey guys,

No follow are for not crawling a link by search engine. Do follow allow search engine to crawl links. No follow tag we can use if we are using a link for reference not for crawl. Both are good for human traffic.

    Thanks and regards

Exactly, If your website link is in dofollow blogs and forums then you are credited by those blogs and forums, because they are telling google bot to follow your website directly.

Whereas if your website link is in nofollow blogs and forums then those blogs and forums telling google not to follow your site link.

Do following links pass weight on , no follow are still crawlable however you are basically telling Google it is not that important and therefore no weight is passed to that particular link. :)

Always focus on Do follow sites as compare to No follow sites. Do follow sites give you the link juice required to gain the popularity of the site. However in no follow you do not get this benefit.

You should definitely be taking advantage of nofollow tags inside of your website. If you link to non-relevant or affiliate links, you do not want the Google Robot to follow those. That is why you would put a nofollow tag on those links.

DoFollow is actual a regular hyperlink which pushes the search engine crawlers to the target page along with the source page credits. The NoFollow links are also hyperlink but it is modified with the rel =”NoFollow” attribute.

By saying dofollow - you are allowing spiders to crawl to your website and indexed pages and website in search engine result

and opposite is the case in case of nofollow.

Do follow links: It means that when search engine scans your page, it would scan all the outgoing links and "follow" that link set with do follow attribute and give it credit as a reputable website.

No Follow Links: It means that when search engine scans your links, they will not follow any of the links which is set with no follow attribute and also will not parse any credit to your website.
