how to make SEO for a blogspot website?

Hi,
Can someone tell me how to do to bring traffic into a blog created on blogspot?
It seems to me quite a sterile environment but maybe i am not looking where i should...

I think about you can try to make use friendly blog spot website and you can also attention on relevancy as per your industry.

 

With the recent Google updates with the blogspot has no future at all. Because for each geographical location the URL changes, so there is huge canonical issue with it. So it is better to switch to custom domain if you can. It will be better for your blog from the SEO part.

- submit your blog in some blog directories.
- do some social bookmarking.
- do some blog commenting using your blog URL.
- the best option for bringing traffic in your blog is Social networking. Share your blog URL in a regular basis in Facebook, G+, Linkedin, Twitter, StumbleUpon, Digg, Delicious, Reditt etc sites. These sites can bring a huge number of traffic in your blog.
- Do some Yahoo answer using your blog URL.
- You can use Forum posting as well for bringing visitors in your blog.

I think these works will be enough for bringing the visitor to your blog.

Best to use Wordpress in terms of themes, SEO-friendly structure (@millbey correct call on the canonical issue).

Also this might be SEO 101, but have you at least registered your own domain name? (instead of the generic name.blogpsot.com). If you choose to host your blog on blogspot then creating and registering your own domain name (and targeting a certain country domain EX:.co.uk) can at least set you the right road to achieveing some SEO value within that certain domain.

 

Its same as optimizing your website. All you need to do is make your blog look good by adding few widgets, a good website/magazine theme. The good part with blogs is you can connect with other blogs (which are many) and its easy to do so.
