Hey there! First post on this forum. I'm just looking for some ideas how I could promote my web design companies. Its been going fairly well but I wouldn't mind some extra clients. I'm only doing this part time for now but I would love to be doing this full time in the future! Any tips would be appreciated!

You need to increase yours portfolio and there is a lot of websites where you can show it to other people.
offline is an opportunity I would look into. look for some business owners, who could use your services as a web design company this doesn't have to take up too much of your time... anyway, I wish you luck with your business! cheers
I've found all my web designers on sortfolio.com -- you have to pay a small monthly fee to be listed, but its totally worth it. I would have never found the companies I hired without it

As a copy and content guy, I've worked with a lot of web design houses in the past. What seems to do well 1) Do awesome work for every last one of your clients, even the clients you hate. If you have a lot of outward facing websites, they will eventually get visitors who will want to know where your clients are getting their work done. 2) Get out of the house. Find meetups and gatherings in your area. And don't just stick to the tech/design meetups either. Go to places where you know the web designers aren't. Cooking groups, photo group meetups, etc. You're likely to have less competition here. 3) Become the pro. SEO is awesome, an excellent content marketing campaign will do you wonders too. Blogging/writing about design and design news sets you as the expert. High dollar clients will pay extra to have the expert on their side. Hope this helps!
