Arcades with adsense....do they make any profits?

    Hi,

I was wondering if adsense optimized arcade sites do well with adsense. Does any one have any insight/experience to share?

    Thanks in advance.

    CPM is better for arcades
CPC pays the bills at least

I don't really know what you mean by this.....is this something I can control within adsense?

I am actually looking for some responses along the lines of "yeah I make $50 bucks a day for the last year" or "no I make .50 cents in one month".

Is there anyone making money with an arcade and adsense? If so can you give some details so I can determine if it is something I want to keep doing or not?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

CPM is cost per impression. You get paid per 1000 banner impressions rather than for clicks. This works well on high traffic sites or on sites like arcade sites where CTR can be notoriously low.
Adsense don't offer CPM but other companies like casale etc do.

Try Tribal Fusion also if you're interested in CPM.

"peanuts" is what I am getting for arcades. I think bandwidth useage is more then I am earning from them.

I have one arcade site and the the CTR is very low. I'm not going to say what I made, but, it barely paid the cost of hosting.

yup. arcade sites usually have very poor CPC. there's not much written content on the site.

I run an arcade website (www.fizzarcade.com) when it was at its peak I was making $4 a day with about 30ish clicks. I make pretty good money with my arcade website, I get around 10+ cent clicks as well with a 1.2X% CTR.

CPM would be awesome for my site, but as you can see I have a CPM banner ad at the top of my page and it is paying me shiza.

Here are my stats for that CPM banner ad -

    Impressions Media Cost
    16,526 $2.92

So ya, I made about $3 from 16.5k impressions. I have only had the ad banner up there as a test for a little while, and I got to say.. Not impressed. When I had my adsense leaderboard ad up there it performed 600% better.

I would suggest only using CPM ads if you get HIGH HIGH traffic, AND if you get accepted into a high quality ad network (Burst, Casale, Tribalfusion) even though those are pretty darn hard to get accepted into. Sometimes.

Yes, arcade sites are getting low clicks, but they are still getting clicks. Usually much more than other sites, except myspace.

    CPM ?
Sorry, but this is funny, dont want to use heavy words..

Usually , arcade site will not have more than 3-5 pagfe views / visitors.
Now, take the average CPM rate at 0.30, you wont have much more than that in most of CPM networks.
Now, count how much unique you would need to have to earn 10 $ daily, arround 5-6000.
And thats amount that only big players and old arcade sites van have now when market is too saturated.

And you can easily make that money with 2-3000 with adsense, even less, as low clicks are

CTR on my arcades average from 1 to 4 % depending on the placement
average pageloads per visitor per day from 5 to 15 depending on the site

consider the fact that about 30 % are returning visitors and their total pageloads should be quite more than that

CPM is a good addition to AdSense and for the low CTR arcades it pays more

The thing with adsense and arcades is that you never know what your next click might be worth. I have seen times where i get 1 cent a click and times when i get 40 cents a click. If you get about 300 visitors you can make about $3-$4 (depending on your placement). I'm going to see if cpm works better.

I would say adsense not really working with arcade sites, my site generate over 1000 clicks, and the average is below or around 0.03/click which isnt good at all, 50% traffic from US so even with quality traffic you cant much from adsense, BTW my ctr is around 2.5%.

I will soon try some CPM and hope that will do good for me.
    Best of Luck.

Arcade sites attract ads that are aimed at the Myspace type audience so they are unlikely to draw anything substantial in terms of cpc.

The CTR for my arcade sites are alright (around 1-2.5%) but the cpc is really low (around 0.01-0.05).The money is enough to cover the hosting so far.I'm using rightmedia's cpm ads now too.
