lol I didn't watch the video and didn't pay much attention to the photo. I would bet they are fake anyway just like the earnings he mentions. Being that he makes more in a month than 3 generations of my family did in their entire lifetimes. I bet my grandpa made more in a year than he has in his whole life so far.

One guy doesn't even know what is the real purpose of directories. He doesn't do edition, accepts all websites and has no value ads either. I broke this open here (BTW, thanks for the gentleman who left a green rep here), but claims to be traditional directory owner, comes up stats from 1997, throws meaningless challenges, but yet doesn't accept the shortfallings on his side. Is it fair from your end to talk a lot but doesn't understand your own mistakes?

The other guy talks like a reformer, but does all sort of things like selling PR domains, buying PR domains, buying links, yet calls the aftermarket domaining as scam. *Sigh* *Shame*. I repent for wasting my time arguing with such a perverse.

I agree with you 100% Looking at the big directories list up there and then checking the back link history of these directories you will find that they are getting soo much juice from those black hat links they have bought on those sites, i dont want to mention its name but there is one big directory up there who have bought some high pr link from this chines site and gained a fake pr of 8 , and it is making $$$ per day just because of that 1 link from that chines site.

GOOGLE REALLY NEED TO SPOT THESE DIRECTORIES AND HIT THEM HARD.........

 

Google has created a major conflict of interest for itself. On one hand they have their search engine where they proclaim to require this and penalize that of site owners. On the other hand, they made mega bucks off of Adsense where folks who can effectively game the search engine often bring Google the most revenue.

With just my own sites, directory and otherwise, I constantly see sites boldly doing what Google and Cutts tell us not to do. Yet, they continually rank at the top for highly competitive terms.

Forced reciprocal links on directories are bad and will get your directory deindexed - not in my niche apparently.

Building networks of inter-connected sites will get you deindexed or penalized - again, not in three of my niches.

We're told that dropped domains will lose their PR and yet we see numerous examples of where they don't.


I don't know if it's a money thing or a case of they can't catch everything. Either way, I've just adopted a strategy of following their "thou shalt nots" and hoping that one day the folks who didn't follow their edicts will face the consequences. I've also opted to perhaps make less money due to less traffic rather than risk losing all my hard work with a ban or penalty.

It's been 6 years that I've been waiting for the reciprocal only directory to be penalized. They did lose one PR point when Google slammed all sites several years ago. But, since most other sites lost a point too, I saw it more as a toughening of the scoring system rather than a penalty.

For Google to hire one person just to police the directory industry does seem a bit absurd. Why not ask them to also hire someone to police the sites about gardening, someone else to police pet sites, etc? In the big scheme of things, directories are no worse offenders than other sites.

That said, of course I would love to see Google penalize the garbage directories. If they only enforced their "thou shalt nots", it would make it better for everyone. Sadly, I just don't see it happening anytime soon.
