Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) is a system used by Google and other major search engines The contents of a webpage are crawled by a search engine and the most common words and phrases are collated and identified as the keywords for the page. LSI looks for synonyms related to the title of your page. For example, if the title of your page was “Dental Implants”, the search engine would expect to find words relating to that subject in the content of the page as well, i.e. “dentist”, “teeth”, “tooth decay”, “cavity” and “tooth crown”.

Latent Semantic Indexing is not a science, it is simple common sense. Here are some simple guidelines:

1. If your page title is Learn to Play Tennis, make sure your article is about tennis.
2. Do not overuse your keywords in the content. It could look like keyword stuffing and the search engines may red flag you.
3. Never use Article Spinning Software.
4. If you outsource your content, choose a quality source.
5. Check Google Webmaster Tools and see what keywords your pages are ranking for.

 

Honestly, this is the first time I've heard of LSI and has vast explanation about it. This is going to make search engine results and searches more accurate than ever.

 

Is it what we known as primary, secondary and tertiary keywords. Actually i heard it first time so please correct me if i am wrong.

LSI means Latent Semantic Indexing, Latent semantic indexing helps search engines to find out what a web page is all about.
It basically means to you that you shouldn't focus on a single keyword when optimizing your web pages and when getting links.

LSI (Latent Symentic Index) is technique used by Google to find or search the websites on the basis of keywords typed user in search engine box.it covers all synonyms of a keyword.
