Can AdBrite be on the same page as AdSense?

Discussion in 'Guidelines / Compliance' started by powwka, Nov 15, 2006.

I just started an AdBrite account, and I want to put the ads on the same page with AdSense. I read in another thread that this is ok because AdBrite is not contextual, but I think it might be.
When registering my site, I checked the box to display network ads if nobody bought my ad space or whatever. So isn't that contextual?

I don't think you can display both at once.. but, adbright does have an option so that they wont be shown at once.. if you tic the box it will show (it says.. allthough i dunno how they know) whichevre add is paying the most.. addsence, YPN, addbright, clicksor.. whatever..

You just add all of your codes into your adbright acct..

    This site:

    http://broadbandforum.in/

    does it.

Someone from Adbrite also posted here on digitalpoint saying that it's okay to use them both together on the same page as long as adbrite isn't serving contextual ads.

Yes you can and are allowed to use affiliate program links and banners.

Google doesn't allow you to display other services that are similiar to their ppc model. Affiliate programs are completely different.

you can. Friendster is doing too.
You will find Adsense and Adbrite on the same page at
    http://www.friendster.com/user.php

Will Friendster risk getting their adsense ban? I doubt so.

So what is the verdict here? I see conflicting answers.

Is Adbrite considered contextual advertising? Can it be placed on the same page as Adsense or not? :)

It's okay as long as it isn't serving network ads and each advertisement is individually approved.

I decided to go with Commission Junction instead of Adbrite... With CJ it seems like I have a lot more choice in the specific ad to put on my site... (not that I get any traffic yet, buy hey, I might one day! hehe)

its allowed...this is a very ancient topic which has already been answered lots of time on DP. As long as advertising is non contextual, you're not violating adsense TOS. And adbrite is non contextual.

This is a major dilemma for most webmasters including myself. As many said adbrite is not contextual so it can be used along with adsense. THe safest bet would be to disable showing network ads and only display advertiser bought ads. That would most likely be allowed.
