Question about page ranking

OK, I work for a website, I was wondering - the owner of the site said it was ok - if I copy and paste his articles to mine, will it affect my page ranking? I have permission, and I type them up for his site to begin with. How would this work?

Thanks I hope this is the right section for this.

there is a good chance there would be an effect.
all kind of recent google updates are aimed at preventing this kind of stuffs.

You can't just cut and paste, no. You'll have to rewrite it or your site will get penalised

No, because google will only acknowledge the original article, you're effort will be put to waste because nothing will happen.
