Google Supplemental Index - How to fight it?

    Hey All!

Recently I noticed that some pages from my main projects revealed in Google Supplemental Index (In Google command line {site:} ).

Is there any cure for it?

How can I have my pages back into Google Index?

Please share some light on it...

    Thanx!

Create unique meta tags for each page and remove any site wide links you are selling.

    Hi mad4!

    thanx for reply

I don't sitewide exchange from my sites and neither sell links...

I have only my own sites in sitewide (3-4)

    Can this be a problem?

You need more links to your home page as well to your internal pages.

My site is having unique meta tags for each page with unique content and don't sell any side wide link but still 75% pages of that site is with Supplemental Result

I'm not saying this is the main cause. Its just one of the causes in my experience.

Google may not know that the sitewide links are to your own sites. I suggest removing them.

Links in the content area will be more effective anyway.

So far, I have found, getting more incoming PR is key. Making sure your internal linking structure is good. (And yes, unique metas and such).

I'm just starting to barely get a few pages out of supplemental... I think PR is the reason why a lot of people are suddenly getting a lot of supplemental pages. If a page is in supplemental, and it has unique content, and you think it should most definitely not be supplemental, then I bet it's PR. Try a direct link from your index and see if it comes back... of course it will probably go supplemental when you remove the link. So, I think the key is determining which pages need to be non-supplemental, make efficient use of your incoming PR, at least that is my theory. I'll let you know if it works at all.

That's a bit simplistic. I have one client with many pages in supplemental but they have their own articles and the site is truly unique.

What some call articles/content google would beg to differ on. There is a difference. Content doesn't mean XXXX amount of words.
