Best option for My Website? (aresmen.com)

    Hi everyone.

So I got nailed with the dread adsense Invalid Clicks e-mail and was wondering what you thought might be the best alternatives for my site. I've tried a ton of stuff already. I get anywhere from 5000-10000 uniques a day, mostly from North America. Amongst them:

    Adbrite (Site too edgy)
    valueclick: refused
    adfocus: refused
    lijit: refused
    clicksor: drive-by virus installations
    bidvertiser: Horrible monetary return
    breezeads and eleavers: ditto

I'm checking out pocketcents, but their code was wreaking havoc on my site's javascript. I seem to have gotten them working, so I'll let you know how that goes.

I have also applied to chitika, but their waiting period has increased due to some upgrades on their part so I'm still waiting for them.

Anyone have some fantastic ideas with CPC or CPM that isn't atrocious (that don't involve adult ads)

    I'd be most appreciative.

    I'm trying out contextweb.

I still need something for my two 468x60 banners up to, since contextweb doesn't have that option.
Shineads looks like it unfortunately has "spammy" type video ads, which I'm trying to ignore, since I want to brand my site.

I'll let you guys know for contextweb. In the meantime, any other ideas?

Sooooo... here are a few comments on how I'm doing so far. I have contextweb working for me for my 3 banners on the right side (aresmen.com). As for a backup to contextweb...

I applied to all the suggested companies. I either got shut down or haven't really heard back from them. Chitika approved me, but they seem to only target search-engine traffic? Most of my traffic is from social media, so they're out.

    So, I have 2 questions...
-For contextweb, what do you guys set your prices at? I have them at .40, .35, and .29 for the 3 ads... but I hear people are getting good results from putting them at something like 1.30.
-Does anyone know a good backup network that can fill the rest of my non-contextweb inventory? I'm having trouble finding a decent one that doesn't run horribly disruptive malware/annoying audio/horrible revenue ads.

Any ideas? (please don't spam me, hm?)

ContextWeb never gave me a decent amount of fill rate (20-30% max for US people. Tried at .50, .75 and 1.00 and then dropped it). Try out advertising.com. It has been amazing for me and most of the time it beats adsense in my site.

Based on your site content: you may try out Glam Media. I heard it is good for your niche. TechnoratiMedia is also a good choice.

Remember that even if Contextweb is CPM, advertisers do test runs and if the performance is bad, they will stop it. And you get lower fillrate. :)

I used $1.30 for contextweb and got pretty good results.
Even if you don't have a backup network, just put in a place holder image and set your 'performance price' to $1.00
I noticed I get the best revenue with this after testing out different prices for a while.
Make sure you set the performance price though. Basically, some of your impressions will come in at $1.30, and then some will come in at like $1.05 (because they bid starting at your 'performance price' if they don't have a price over your 'ask price').

I do only get about a 10% fill rate, but honestly, I average $1.20 CPM, which is pretty good IMO, especially since I have a forum with ridiculously low CTR. And you can always put in a backup network if you find one, there aren't many 'quality' networks for mid-level publishers like us!

Contextweb was actually doing great for me...

Unfortunately, they put up a sound ad last week in my 300x250 space that absolutely MURDERED my carefully cultivated traffic.

I've actually tried technorati, advertising.com, and glam.

For technorati, my traffic wasn't good enough yet. For glam, they just out and out rejected me. advertising.com rejects my placements... so I'm pretty stuck with what I have... unless someone has any other options :)

In my experience, most networks end up letting audio ads slip through in 300x250 spots.
What happens is, advertisers tweak the code in the video player so that it still uses the same file format, but it allows the audio to automatically play.
I've switched entirely to 728x90 banners and have had pretty good luck with avoiding 'bad ads'.
I would say the only way to serve 300x250 ads and be 100% safe from audio ads, is to sell your own ads with a network like BuySellAds or DigitalPoint's ad exchange.

You could always compliment whatever you are getting with mobile ad networks. They generally will accept most people. even if your site isn't mobile optimized they can put special ads that show up when viewed from a phone. try tapit or chitika

I am using these 2 cpm networks on my 2 sites, both on both, because I have tried a lot of other cpm and cpc ads but not any of them satisfied me, my earnings was horrible. Finally I did choose these 2, because they are really the best, you will see from the first days if you decide to try them.

    1. BinLayer is the best paying CPM network, they are paying between 0.30 euro/cpm and 10 euro/cpm; the minimum payment is only 15 euro PayPal or bank wire, they accepts many countries and the rates are these:

Important: if you will use BinLayer, choose the HybridAds option, because this type of ad will give you 50% bigger rates than in the list below - it means you will get 9 euro for Germany (for example) instead of 6 euro!

    2. An other very good paying CPM network is Paid-To-Promote, they are paying between $1 and $8/cpm, the minimum payment is only $5, PayPal, AlertPay or WebMoney, also accepting many countries:

United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, Germany, New Zealand, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands, Peru, Portugal, Sweden, Viet Nam, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Greece.

You can try other CPM networks too, but not any of them will pay you these high rates :)

I'm trying to avoid any popup or hybrid ads. I want to brand my site and not have it be annoying to visit.

Ergo, no popups, hybrids, popunders, etc.

    Thanks anyway
