I'm making the slow transition from fun hobbies to 'something bigger', and I'm still having a good time. In your business do you have fun with the little things? For example: I was filling out a support request at a hosting company today, and noticed the file attachment option, so I gave them this (see photo below). I don't care what they think, it was fun. In your business do you do silly fun stuff, and remember to be grateful, too? Thanks, MGH
It's fine to have fun for many sites. If you are selling million dollar software products to enterprises I'd keep the fun restricted to laughing your way to the bank but keep your site and everything else about the business serious in tone. There are certainly successful sites that have fun like slashdot.org, godaddy.com and careerbuilder.com (I love their chimp commercials). So if fun fits your sector, have fun.
Having fun is part of the whole business experience. When the fun dies down it may be time to move on...
