Seems that the aStore is out of beta and now you can build up to 100 aStores per Associate account, you'll have to generate a tracking code for each though. Amazon has also announced an additional incentive of 4% for items referred via Omakase or aStore (up to a maximum of $500 from each offering per Associate between November 14, 2006 and December 31, 2006, seems a sure fire way of getting more x'mas shop sites up. ...
I have opened two astores a couple of days ago. I put links to one of them on a couple of my websites and Google indexed the main page and Amazon affiliate says that I have had 55 unique visitors and 236 clicks in the past 2 days but no commissions. I don't know if astores are going to do well but I have seen several astores with very good ranks on Google.
astore is an easy way to add some products to my site ... good they added more than 1 aStore and custom categories
I have yet to get my sites indexed by any SEs. Looks like the idea from your post is to get these stores listed on or linked to from other sites befor the SEs wakes up to their being..
I'm new to aStores. Have they generally been good money-makers for you guys? I don't know what it was like before the supposed new features, but what I saw tonight as I built my first one seemed pretty cool, with lots of potential.
IT's finding the time to really sit down and look into these stuff. MY book sales always double this time of year.
One thing about them is that once people click and find out they're off to Amazon don't you think next time they order they'll just visit Amazon and not your store?? Unless of course the customer is cookied and ALL future sales are yours?
I have had better luck with individual product links on various sites. My astore shows only 2 orders but either something went wrong or they haven't shipped yet because I haven't seen any income from them.
My stats are like that also, 4 orders but no commisions. I guess its people shopping than changing their mind and leaving the checkout and not clearing their basket.
Orders, especially third party products, sometimes takes more than a couple of days to be processed. So I guess it's the waiting game or as you say it, cancellations. BTW, good to see that some of yous are getting it (orders) from your astores, nothing like that on my sites yet.
I dont get Astores... how can they be indexed if they have the same content? .. surely it would just be penalised by Google for duplicate content? Also, there will be like hundereds of the same Car shops..... are they only good for directing your current traffic to the shop? thanks, Matt
i just created an astore. I think its incredible PATHETIC. Extremely limited features and only one main category and one subcategory. Userinterface and configuration is almost NIL....pathetic. Looking at aom now.
To each his own... glad to know that you found your karma in AOM. All the best, and for the holidays too.
