There are two sites of my client in .nl (Netherlands). All the keywords including landing pages were on Google (Google.nl) top 20 or 10. But suddenly from the last two days the ranks gone down, not even in top 100. I am so worry about it but can't get a reason or the solution. Please help me!
Google 2 days ago made one of the biggest, if not the biggest change to SEO in history. They have implemented something called an over optimization penalty. Overnight they've turned the industry on it's head, you're not alone with loss of rankings, it's happened to pretty much anyone that was doing SEO. Google has made a big mess in a lot of areas, I have numerous sites that are highly optimized with incredible content and huge social signals, they have been wiped off the searches overnight. Here is an example of one of the mess ups search for "new shoes" . Great results aren't they. Google is history in the making now the path they're going down, they asked for highly optimized user friendly content, we gave it to them, they cleaned us out. They've been pushing algorithm after algorithm recently in the hope to fight webspam and their quality has deteriorated massively, I for one am moving on, believe me, there will be masses to follow.
Oo dear, if Google changes its algorithm so frequently and every time in a new manner then Seo industries would be in a nightmare. We optimize sites regularly according to Google instructions but after some time if Google say that we over optimize the sites and its a crime then what would be the recovery path? Should we stop optimizing those sites?
It still to early to tell the full signals that have caused this, but if you want some advice, make sure you are using other traffic sources, you cannot rely on one search engine only. This change they've done now is HUGE, they have literally changed the industry overnight. Guess what, they've got a very large part of it wrong. Google admitted 2 weeks ago they made a mistake in the last change with place holder sites and this caused genuine sites to disappear. How can you trust a company that deals so hap haphazardly with people's livelyhood's, a company that has no customer services and a company that is driven by ad revenue? The short answer is you can't. We will eventually have search results that are dominated by the big players such as amazon,ebay,wikipedia etc.. Guess what the little guy will have to do? Use google's advertising to be shown anywhere on the search, they punish us in the serps, they get richer in the end.. I've never ever relied on them solely, it's a disastrous business plan if you are, change it as soon as you can and start looking elsewhere for other traffic sources.
Have you guys seen the man vs machine war movies?? This is exactly same.. but we got to win!! stay calm, study google and your sites and then take the steps I too have been hit hard by the same.. Good Luck
Wat techsole says is true. Google will loose its priority one day. I hope there is a big demand of a different search engine. No doubt google is an excellent company but this is really bad. This change is not for good. This can affect business and losses. If this continues for 1 month then am dam sure all clients who were doing SEO would have to pack there bags. Google has mentioned clearly some points which i would like to note it down here 1) Google has stopped 1 signal link evaluation, which it has devalued 2) Google says even if you don't do SEO, then aslo google can rank your page, this is highly questionable? this makes me sure that google wants to actually throw out the SEO's becz they feel that SEO's have manipulated the search engines. This is going to be verse, i have crossed my fingers this time!
@TechSole, You are right buddy, we should look for the other traffic sources. But right now first I have to find the solution and the recovery process. If I get I'll share with you all and if any one get any solution, please share with us. @tonyjazz, buddy after studying the Google we optimize the sites but if Google changes its algorithm frequently then we can do nothing but following the new techniques, which will also be change after few days or month. @meganuk Thanks for pointing out these points. according to the 2nd point "Google says even if you don't do SEO, then aslo google can rank your page", I don't think its very natural because to follow this point Google will have to follow the natural content but we seo industries will follow the Google instructions again and this time we'll not have to work more. If Google thinks, it can down the Seo industry then it's thinking wrong.
