I purchased a linux server from LT about 3 weeks ago, and have yet to configure it correctly to work with web hosting... Im guessing its got something to do with the nameservers...because i can create accounts just fine, but when i change the nameservers on the registrar site(namecheap), it doesn't seem to work... I can provide root info if someone is willing to help and also i can pay if need be...Like i said, ive had the box for about 3 weeks, just losing money...
Did you register the IP address of the nameservers with namecheap. Under advanced options you need to go to 'Register Nameservers'
managing your own server is generally a bad idea if you don't know what your doing, I'd suggest you hire someone to do it for you. I can't remember their name but there is a company out there somewhere that will maintain your server and do basic tasks and from memory they charge about $40 bucks a month. I'm pretty sure you'd be able to find them using Google.
Login to your domain registrator control panel and register nameservers and poin t your ns1 and ns2 to right ips otherwise it will not work Saad
