Hey guys, I am after some help! Basically approx. 84% of my traffic is from search engines, while only 7% is from referring sites (Majority of which is facebook) Only 8% are returning visitors. How can I improve these stats a bit more? Thanks
You need to get your site out in the limelight more. You could try banner exchanges, Google Adwords and other PPC platforms, yahoo answers, talk about it more in forums, classifieds as dnk mentioned, and youtube videos to name a few. In regards to an 8% return rate, that might tell you that you need to work on keeping your website's content fresh; giving people a reason to come back. take care, Kevin
I agree with the poster above. Try classifieds: craigslist.com, backpage.com and qwikad.com I think classifieds can be your way to getting and retaining visitors.
hello, you need to fix your marketing (digital) plan first. because you need to be focus about what area (marketing channel) are you looking at. if you want get some more traffic from Social Media, then you have to put efforts accordingly, plan you social strategy. as I went through you thread, you are getting good traffic from SEO. I'm right? so please efforts towards social media. It will work for you! cheers!
The website is: http://www.supplementjudge.net/ there is a facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/supplementjudge and a twitter page: https://twitter.com/#!/SupplementJ and a youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/supplementjudge What do you mean by classified ads? Would adwords/PPC get me more returning visitors? I can definitly try yahoo answers, however, most forums wouldn't allow posting and would deem it spamming. Content is constantly posted...2 twice a week, so I am not sure that posting more often would help. So a digital marketting plan. How do I go abouts putting one together? Yes, my SE traffic is pretty good, but I'd like to have a sense of loyal readership. How could I set up a digital marketting plan together?
You can look to get more traffic and also are you building a list. If you are building your list you can send people back to your website.
It is hard to tell without more information on your site. Can you provide a link or the general idea of your site?
It's all about quality, you have about 10-30 seconds to capture the users attention. Your keywords gave them a reason a visit, and your site needs to give them a reason to come back. Quality content is a good way to do that, and as others have said building a list is very important as well.
Link is in an earlier post. What do you mean by a list? and how do I get their attention for long enough to come back? The content I am putting on is relevant!
you'll hear the term "list" and "the list" quite a bit in the IM world, all it is a email list where users have opted in so you can send them your offers anytime you want. Why do they opt-in? usually because you give them something, like a free ebook or whatever. A list is extremely profitable because imagine hundreds of thousands of people you can reach out to anytime to sell things...especially if they already bought from you before... as far as getting a users attention on a website you need to make your website looks nice, have quality content and catchy titles. Take tmz.com it jumps out at you.
I agree with the previous comment. You need a list generating tool. Also, I would look into making your site more "sticky". This will increase the number of return visitors. You need to think about how to get users to interact with your site. Maybe even adding a forum.
You Tube is Great for bringing Traffic.. I posted a video that got 25,000 hits in the first 24 hours and drove around 400 unique visitors to my site. I also was able to make $100 in adsense.. pretty crazy since it was such a simple method.
Adwords/PPC will definitely bump up your referral traffic, but I doubt it will have much effect on your return rate. After looking at your site, I don't think a site like that would get many returning visitors in the first place. People may come to read your reviews, but when it comes time to buy, the first time they will probably click on your buy button, but every time after that they will go directly to the manufacturers site. I'm assuming that you're affiliated with the supplement companies you're directing people to. How long do the cookies last? Meaning, if you direct the person once to the manufacturer, do you get credit each time that person buys? If that's the case, I wouldn't be worried about returning visitors. If you are worried about returning visitors, I would suggest starting a newsletter. Kevin
Keep adding content. Consider writing press releases, articles (article marketing), submitting articles to sites like slide share and creating some videos that you post to video-sharing websites.
you should view on your site from different point of view - imagine that you are user when you enter your site and see, what are reasons you wont stay there anymore. and then just think about how to change those reasons.
I'm not a big e-mail list building type of guy, just believe that content is king to get traffic. Like Salesmania, keep adding fresh content weekly then send the link to directories, social bookmarking site and the traffic will come. That has always worked for me when trying to drive direct traffic. Michail
