Hello there, Today I received an email from one person, who is interested in buying permanent blog post backlinks in my blog. He says he would like to place 3-4 lines of text links under the content of the post. He asks what will I charge for permanent links in a post. The thing is... I have no idea. I have only sold links in sidebar before. My blog has PR3, gets ~60k unique visitors and about 400k pageviews a month. How can I determine the optimal price?
I would charge him about 50% of what you charge for a sidebar link. They aren't sitewide (so it seems), but he is trying to gain relevant backlinks. Obviously, your site has value to him or he wouldn't bother tracking you down.
different people charge differently for links. you can browse through the link sell forum and read a few posts to see how much are those links going for.
Thank you for your opinion. I have sold a footer backlink (sitewide) in the same site for 150$ for one year before. So, for one blog post link (which has no PR) I should charge about 70$? Isn't that a bit too expensive? He seems to be a serious buyer so I wouldn't like to deter him by asking too much. Nor would I like to sell links too cheaply. How about permanent links? Lets say I charge "x" for one year link. What should I charge for permanent link: 2x, 3x...?
Well, you said above that he wanted 3-4 text links I had thought just all on the same post. So it would equal out to be about $12.00 - $16.00 per link or so. If you feel that's too much, then give him a fair price that you think is fair. You are right, that does sound a little bit high still, but somewhere around $8-$10 per link I don't think would be too much to ask for. Especially if you don't have a lot of OBL's.
For permenant link, I think it is not reasonable. If the blog is mine, I will charge him $10 if the link is not the ads link but only for a backlink.
Also ask him to provide unique content to post in you site that related with your niche. Charge could be around $25 for these service for normal rate pr3 site. Instead you get money you get free content as well. This is what we call "guest post service".
