What are actually quality backlinks?

I read everywhere that we should focus on building quality backlinks instead of focusing on quantity of backlinks?
what are quality backlinks?
How to get them?

 

This is true but the reason people have quantity is because quality is so hard to find. The quality sites know this and stop people getting links leaving us to only get cheap low pr links. Quality links are such as authority sites like wikipedia and high pr sites. Also authority sites in your niche rather then totally different niches.

Always start with On Page Optimization, i.e. how you site is:
- good and on-going keyword research
- good useful content for your Users
- content that is original and unique
- nice layout - something a human being enjoys looking at and is easy to navigate
- good, but not to dense, keyword placement

Then move on to Backlinks.

What you want to achieve is high "conveyed Page Rank (PR)"

This means that the actual page that you are posting on does have high PR - not just high PR on the top level domain.

You want low Outbound Links (OBL).

The number of OBL is in the denominator of the conveyed Page Rank, so if you have a back link on a page with 2,000 other OBLs, then the PR that is conveyed to you is diluted by 2000.

You want a mix of DoFollow and NoFollow links for your Backlinks.

Well the above is somewhat of an over-simplification - honestly, but there are some of the top golden rules.

For getting Backlinks I almost exclusively rely on Blog Commenting.

Well, what Google wants is any new webmaster should also have space to say something and Google gives space to them also, so how would a new webmaster know the quality of links.

They created a site or blog, they started promoting via article, blog, forum whatever they feel easy or they are comfortable with and they get success too.

The main thing is it is hard for smart webmasters, Google easily track foot prints and lower the ranking.

 

quality links are NOT only edu/wiki/high pr links and that's a common mistake. See what happened to all this "high pr" networks for an example, this will happen to those "wiki" sites also and edu blogs that are just stuffed with tons of links of people that mistaken them for quality links. Think like google- quality means that other related websites are linking to you, good websites that are not only there to send backlinks (and yes, i mean guest blog posts on related websites), mixed that with some authority sites, add a bit of press releases and related edu links and you're good to go!

 

Backlinks from higher authority websites are known as Quality backlinks... But again, if links are coming from same niche then it'll be fantastic and will help in SERP.

 

Quality by means is doing links with partners that related to your niche and they sole provide you either header or footer links.

 

The back links coming to your site from quality sites in the terms of PR. Links coming High pr quality sites to your sites are called quality back links.

Here are some of the link building guidelines that we should follow

Should take link only from quality domains
Should take link only from recently cached relevant pages (Rule not applied for Guest Posting)
Should not take link from any spam or link farm websites
Should try to get content links as much as possible
Should not take any link from page with 40+ outgoing links (it is allowed in some cases but with permission)
Should take link only from relevant websites
Should not take any link from pages having copied contents (Check Google before committing)

I will put this simply; you can get quality backlinks from websites that Google consider to be ‘high ranking websites’ with some average to high PR, and relates to your site or keywords.
The easiest ways to get quality backlinks is through blog, forum commenting and perhaps article distribution. Stay away from bad websites and try not to get too many backlinks at the same time.
