Ok what type of templates would you be providing... Wordpress or Joomla.. SEO will take quite sometime for you the rank or get to the first page.. Other than that paid ads is really expensive for template sales due to high competition...
If your site is new and you want to see more genuine traffic instantly then don't waste your time to think on other things just run PPC (Pay Per Click) campaign.
We will provide template for free for Blogger, wordpress, Joomla, Drupal and many others PPC and paid traffics are good and cost, but I think if I provide good and unique template, that will be a better good deal. Also what you advise for the domain name for fast traffics growth, a keywords based or a short one..
Let's say if i were you i will get bunch of top IMers email and let them review the templates and themes and let them introduce your templates to their list of subscribers and pay them like 30-40% of each sale. That way your sales will increase and you don't have to worry about traffic...
