    something i was wondering about.

when you write an article, submit it to various article submission sites, other sites will use your article on their website, and you'll get a backlink. but wouldn't this be considered as duplicate content?

anyone wanna explain this logic to me?

    thanks!

True in what say and its a sure way of receiving a penalty. Google class that as manipulating the search results and creating doorway pages. Lately they have also been penalizing sites, directories and forums for producing "unnatural links", links that are non- relevant, copy and spam. So don't do it. Backlinks from bad neighborhoods can hurt your site. Copy articles should use rel=canonical to tell Google which is the original and preferred version or noindex can be used. If noindex is used, the page won't be indexed.

Do not worry about your website. The worst thing that can happen when different websites link back to your website, using the same content, is that google will give you credit only 2 or 3 times and will ignore the rest of the links coming to you from that same content.

You will not be penalized (as long as you don't blast that same content with the link to hundreds of websites within a day and even then, I'm not sure if you would get a penalty).

The best thing you can do to get more credit for your content is spinning it before you submit it to different article directories...

When you submit an article to a directory you will get a backlink. If that article is then used on another website you don't get another backlink. However, if you article is well written you will get credit for the article if posted on another site. This is great for driving targeted traffic and also for building your reputation. Don't write articles for backlinks write them for potential customers.

    Why?

No matter what you do, people will definitely copy your content. That is why it is very important to choose where to post your content. Also, do not distribute content that is already in your main site. Many each submission unique.

What a joke. Yes indeed, a joke. Firstly spinning articles is against the guidelines and secondly you do get manual penalties for unnatural links. And copying the same article on multiple directory's is UNNATURAL and its a form of black hat seo, opening spam copy doorway pages to your site and its a form of manipulating the search. DON'T COPY YOUR ARTICLES.
