Unplanned Downtime

    A lightning storm came through San Diego today and this afternoon a lightning bolt physically hit the data center our servers are in. Doesn't matter how much redundant power systems you have when the electrical in the building is fried.

    I also took the time to verify the integrity of all the databases (about 50GB worth) before bringing it all back online.

    That being said, we are back online (obviously), but we are limping a bit (we are currently only using a single DB server instead of the normal 5). The other DB servers should be coming back online in the next hour or two (basically just need to copy 50GB of data to each one).
