Membership site with affiliate system – WishList Member? WPMU Dev?

I'm going to create a 2 WordPress membership sites (ideally using Genesis theme but I'm flexible on that). I would like to offer the membership site to affiliates to promote.

I would like to use WishList Member as I've used it before and it is super simple. The one drawback of it is is that is doesn't accept affiliate payments, ie. there's no ability within WishList Member to pay affiliate commissions to your affiliates. Apparently you have to tack on a different payment gateway in order to get that functionality.

Has anyone done this? Are there other membership site plugins for WordPress that offer an affiliate payment scheme?

Supporter from WPMUDEV. Although I think it's called something different now.

    Thanks for the answer, HMansfield.

Have you used the Membership plugin? Was it easy?

Do you have any experience setting up an affiliate scheme on the forum?

I don't use Membership for any sites that I own, but I have set it up for clients, and no it is not easy, but it is robust. Once you get the hang of the settings, and activating the levels, it gets easier. The first hour will be completely frustrating.

The only affiliate that I have set up , is the affiliate plug in from WPMUDEV. It's simple enough. Make a graphic, set up your Pay Pal, and configure the settings. It tracks clicks and payments and you can set them for auto or manual. It's great if you just want something light. Works fine.

It's not something you can use for multiple levels or a lot of different products. The last time I used it, you could only set it for one product ( or membership level), unless they have updated that. They were talking about it.

That's really good information. I understand what you mean by the first hour being totally frustrating. Interesting that the affiliate set up only works for one level. That's all I'd want and probably good as it keeps thing simple.

i'm interested in it as long as I can hide pages and parts of pages from non-members and offer an affiliate scheme. I'll ask them pre-sales questions and see how it goes.

    Thanks a million.

Yes, you can definitely hide pages based on membership levels, and parts of pages through the use of shortcodes.
I remember that part clearly as I spent a little time configuring it.

You can wishlist member plugin with clickbank or 1shopping cart both of them support their own affiliate program.

Also you can use the the Affiliate Royale plugin for adding affiliate program to any wordpress blog.

You can read a review on that plugin at wishlistmemberplugins.net/affiliate-royale < ---- Link

    Hi robcub,

If you want a fully integrated, multi-tier affiliate program, check out DigitalAccessPass.com (DAP). The affiliate module in DAP has some cool features like Paypal mass-pay integration, ability to set up "Affiliate-only" access (without content access), multiple tiers, lifetime commissions, recurring commissions, etc.

    Disclaimer: I'm the founder/co-developer of DAP :)

    - Ravi Jayagopal

PS: And thanks to cjaccardi & ilook for recommending DAP.
