I lift maybe 3-4 times a week been sick the past week can't wait to go again though I can't bench because I have tendonitis, actually according to my last doctor I shouldn't lift at all, but screw him Been eating lots of glocosime and chorndrotin seems to have helped my elbows I have even been able to few sets of pull ups lately, which used to be my favorite
Only for you Timmy Yeah I'm not supposed to squat, 3 knee surgeries on my left knee by the time I was 18. Just got back from doing just that though, squats I have lots of injuries from when I was younger, just work through the pain. Universal Nutrition makes a great product for your joints, Animal Flex Pack I think it's called.
I got into weight lifting for the first time earlier this year when I was going through hard emotional times. It REALLY helped, I gained confidence and I just loved the challenge but I was gaining weight/muscle extremely fast since I had never weight lifted before (I'm 26) I went from 180lbs to 225lbs in a matter of months but was solid. I stopped lifting when I began pursuing my business full time while working a full time job as well.. in the meantime I just do sparatic aerobic excersize and that is about it, hopefully I can get back into it when things get going.
The gains in the beginning are awesome, they come easy and fast! Good work, you should get back to it if you can. Even once or twice a week, help keep your core strength up.
Jeez, I just started yesterday after three months of laziness...actually a surgery on what I thought was cancer. Long story. I'm somewhere in the 200 range right now (for benching), but I've lost so much strength due to my long-recovery. Either way I don't plan to go that high.
read only few posts in this thread but apparently people who are into weightlifting here have some emotional or medical problems(god bless ya) so i am better off
I have injuries not originally from weight lifting. Lifting weights has helped me become healthier than I have ever been in my life.
lmao....no more than anyone else, but I don't consider myself a weightlifter. I do it for practical reasons, nothing more.
What's wrong with creatine? It's a natural supplement found in red meat & fish. You just take it in a larger & concentrated amount to help retain water weight. Oh, and I do take whey protein. About 1.5g per pound. Charles
Nothing wrong with it at all Only complaint I have is all the extra water weight makes me balloon out a bit
you guys really eat a 1.4 grams a protein per pound/? I eat a little way protein , like 60 grams in shake after working out, but eating like 200 grams of the stuff seems kinda crazy
I eat more than that. My idea of a candy bar or treat is cottage cheese, extremely low fat yogurt, protein bars, protein shakes. I don't have a minimum to try to hit, but just in protein shakes and bars I eat 100-150 grams a day. Plus I take amino tabs, my cereal is high protein, my bread is high protein, I buy my food based no it
I have put on 25lbs of SOLID mass in each of the last two years. Hopefully I can do the same this year although it will be much harder.
Enjoy it, don't make it a chore make it something you enjoy to do. I lift a minimum 5x a week, at my peaks I may lift 8 or more times a week, plus cardio sessions on top of that. Don't treat it as 'work', listening to music helps me. Seeing the results is simply awesome..
I used to only eat around 50-60g but I've upped since then. Cottage cheese, yogurt, whole milk, STEAK, chicken, more yogurt. You get the idea. 6 small meals a day is key.
