Please Help Me..

    Hello Guys,

    I have 2 website of movie and i wanna fetch data from one website to other. But i heard from my friend that its not right way and this will harm both of your websites. Is this really true or not. Will this effect my ranking on search engine?

    Explain more please, are you saying you want to take the complete data from 1 site and put it on the other i.e. so both sites have the same data?

    If you go into more explanation, you can get the correct information from us.

    Are you talking about using duplicate content for both your sites? I think you'll get penalized on Google. Why not do a variation of the contents?

    No do not do that, that will be classed as duplicate content. As Shamrock said above, vary the content. What Google wants to see is that when a person comes into your site, through what-ever keyword term they searched for, they have fresh and quality content, not duplicate contact copied from another site.Also think about this - if you have 2 sites or more all with the same content, who gets the ranking?     (over simplified version)
    Move the data via FTP to the other site - then rename all the files - but don't index it (make them index no follow), yet. Now you have to re-write all the written content. Then you need to create duplicate video files (you can alter them slightly but they at least must be sourced differently). Check all your links are working. Rename all pages and so on and so on...

    Now you can index it and ping! And then develop the sites differently thereafter.

    The content must be different for it not to affect the other site! And it will take some work!

    As MaggieDavid said. Duplicate content is a big no, no. If both sites have the same content then one of them will take a hit. Best to keep your sites updated with different content
