Definetly a stupid idea lol. When will people just start saying hi to each other on the street instead of ignoring everyone on the street and then getting on "social networks". Haha. I actually tought you wanted to invite me to Cash Cab with ya :D

I'm curious.. if you choose safety, how is it decided who is safe? And would you want to socialize with someone that preferred it to safety? Site should generate lots of income, it's the silliest ideas that do :p

This seems like a stupid idea to me, but I still think Myspace is a stupid idea, so what do I know?

This type of thing just might work in NYC.

Seems like a mobile service would work better, but how much effort are people really going to go through to share a cab?

I am sure that you can't do it on a bus. The reason is that you will distract the driver and the possibility of accident increase. It makes sense for me

Going to play devils advocate here and say I like the idea.
While I never think it will fully take off, this website offers a genuine service that could be used by many people. I am one person who gets very frustrated at high cab costs. Looks like its gotten some press as well.

Let's be practical about this. How many really stupid ideas have been successful? Some even brilliantly so? (Anyone recall hamsterdance?)

Hm your right about the bus there is actually a fine (although its not strictly inforced) but a bus is 10 times bigger and carries up to a hundred people.
I dont see the difference though with not being able to talk to a cabbie and not being able to talk to your friend driving, or mum driving you to school etc though.

@ahkip, are you from india? I heard india was notorious for bad driving (from and indian)

I think it si a good Idea, they will just need to do non web advertising in big cities.
Such as Tv commercials, billboards, psoters, handouts

I thought selling pet rocks was a dumb idea too so as long as their are dumb people to make dumb things, there will be even dumber people to buy them.

    Just my 2 cents.
