Well, I ask this question because even if I have blog post articles with more than 500 Google pluses, the number of organic search refferals that lead to my site has never increased. And as far as I understood, Google+ is using the + count to display the results in your friend's network. So, anyone noticed any improvment in organic refferals for highly plused pages?
+1 doesn't influence search in general, but is instead used for your (and friends in your circles, what they have shared with you) personal web search. Read this blog article from Google for more information: http://googleblog.blogspot.co.uk/2012/01/search-plus-your-world.html Still, A Google+ (along with other social media) presence is a good idea. You might be lucky and someone picks a link up from there and blogs about it or recommends to friends, for example. Social media provides healthy, legitimate backlinks.
Thanks for answering. Anyway, even if I have promoted and overpromoted my sites over social media, I don't see any backlinks from them. Neither in alexa, nor in the internet tools that are used for that.
What's your strategy... notification and engagement, or...? This is a good article about Pinterest, but the same can be applied to any social media: http://searchengineland.com/why-pinterest-is-not-your-seo-miracle-worker-117762
