Why aren't my ads showing up?

I'm building a large authority site and the site is pretty new, but it already had 17 or so articles on it between 500 and 1,500 words in lenigh all with custom images created etc. Even though there's not much traffic I thought I'd install Adsense to get that out of the way, the ads started displaying instantly for around 3 days after I installed them. Then I checked today and they're not displaying and there's just white spaces were my ads are supposed to appear, does anybody know why this is happening? Is this normal practice? I've never given Adsense much attention in all my years of IM, so even though I understand it I don't etc.

The site is in the financial niche, not sure if that makes much of a differnce?

I'm complying with all their TOS, and I have their privacy policy installed and it's easily accessible.

    Thanks for your help.

you are in the process of building the site and its already an authority? you dont build an authority site, your site gets authority over time.

if you are seeing white spaces and no ads, then there is a spacing issue. you dont have enough space for the ads to load. try modifying your template to make the ads show

Problem solved. Please tell me you're not that stupid, how do you think you gain authority? You build it through by offering quality content and thus gaining trust and credibility.
