    Hello,

I am very confusing about to choose e-commerce cms available in the internet (opensource), Can anyone suggest me best among Prestashop, Opencart, Zencart and other available alternative. CMS must be:
    1. Secure.
    2. Easily available Modules and Themes.
    3. Unlimited products and categories.

    Thank you

Why not try Wordpress and an ecommerce plugin for wordpress? Wordpress can be an excellent CMS and there are a few very good eCommerce plugins for it. There are always new plugins being created for wordpress and most of the ecommerce plugins allow you unlimited products. Hope that helps. Good luck and all the best to you.

I've heard a few good things about the Wordpress e-commerce plugins. Haven't used them myself, but I do know Wordpress is very solid and versatile.

Wordpress ecmmerce may be good for a few products, but when i loaded it with some 7k (out of my 15k) products - it just exploded .. i even got my hosting suspended for "overloading the server" ...

Of the ones you listed, I would pick prestashop. I don't think much of the others. Prestashop has a ton of features- but still could be missing what you need so look carefully.

WordPress eCommerce Plugin is the better choice in terms of SEO.
You can have more profit using Articles too. You should have a professional understanding on use of WordPress.
Ecommerce will be based on pages where as Articles related to your products can be posted.
So that you can have more sells than normally and you don't have to spend much in advertising.

It really depends on how intuitive the admin backend is that you need plus the type and size of the website you'll be operating. Prestashop and Magento are both really great open source shopping carts. I'm actually using them both to run two entirely different websites in different niches. I advise you to checkout the demo cart for shopping carts you mentioned before making your final decision to determine rather the admin backend will meet your specifications for ease of use and flexibility of future growth for your site. Also be aware of how often the developer or community is actively pushing out new updates for software. Magento offers a hosted version of their CMS also.

I prefer OpenCart. OpenCart is a “out of the box” shopping cart solution. You simply install, select your template, add products and your ready to start accepting orders.

I like Prestashop, although I had a few problems with my database when updating to a newer version of it, it still has everything you're looking for. Perhaps the problem you'll run into is that most of the "good" features cost extra. There's a HUGE community of custom built modules, but some of the more useful stuff usually cost $25+ not to mention themes that are kind of costly if you're just starting out.
