Google will surely delete the duplicate content submitted by you on other directories.

    Hi there,

I guess that your reason for adding articles to different sites are to get an increase in backlinks? Correct?

Well here is how I would have done it. Let say you are writing about health care. I would have written theree different articles about this subject.

The main article would then have been submitted to Major Ezine directories. And the rest would be submitted to all the others.

I'm sorry but i disagree with this. A speaker from the Las Vegas PubCon 2006 just mentioned that its not advisable to submit articles to these tons of free article directories. It is most likely that the articles you submitted will not be indexed to the SEs. Why? Think about having pages having the same Titles being submitted.

And this all sums up that article submitters will starve to death.

Bcoz the most important article directories are only 10 or so. And to them the author himself can also submit his or her articles.

I've submitted the same article in differnet words... basically i paid someone $3.50 to completely rewrite it for me but it kept the meaning sentence by sentence. This way my article is not penalized by duplicate content ;) Although i think i was pretty safe even by submitting the original one, since the article is already indexed in google (a day after i posted it it was there). Google love <3

The big article directories undoubtedly have some type of authority. I'd rather have 10 articles on 10 sites (100 links) than one article on 100 sites (also 100 links).

I still don't like article sites however. Even on the reputable ones, you see that the vast majority of the articles are just respun garbage, or bad outsourced rewritten ones. I don't see these sites as providing much value to the end user (who wants good content to syndicate), so who knows how long it takes before they're completely useless.

From a reliable source who attended the Pubcon, here's what speaker Jennifer Slegg (jensense) said on her topic "Unique Content is a Budget Site's Best Friend":

"Free article sites: Most of these will end up on spam sites, and you won't have unique content. Also most of these will be promoting something else."

    Just sharing :D

Submitting to massive article directories may help Yahoo or MSN rankings some but its value for a Google ranking is very low. It is much higher if you submit one article per site.

    Google likes unique content.

If you MUST submit articles, try this: Have a different opening paragraph every time you send a particular article to a specific directory. Most articles have a sort of useless introductory paragraph anyway, right? Maybe the duplicate content filters won't quite get past that first paragraph.

Google has a filter that figures all that out. It can even tell simple rephrasing which you may try. Google goes by the overall duplication of the content. If the first paragraph is the only part copied google will assume the intro id relative to a couple of different articles and that won't be that big of a problem however if the rest of the article is dup than google will be able to tell.
