ValueClick Media -- VERY low eCPM! What should I do?

Hi Guys,

I have been accepted into Valueclick Media since last year december, but only started using on January. My January eCPM was $0.12, for February $0.20 and for March so far is $0.20 on average.

I am using the "Medium Rectangle" "728 Banner" and "160 Skyscraper". I am not using pop-under or anything else. only those three. I have set defaults to Technorati, it didn't work that well. I also tried "Filters" function, but still no improvement. What should I do to increase it to an effective eCPM of $1.2 that you guys all have. Or at least increase it a little bit more. I am serving more than 5000 impressions (60% of which are filled). I never have used pop-unders, I am afraid the users will hate it and maybe it would be too annoying for them.

So my question is, what should I do to increase my eCPM? it is a miserable rate now, I want it to be a little better. Is there anyway to boost without the use of pop-ups?

P.S. Don't suggest me different networks, it was very hard for me to get into value click since everyone was telling tall tales of how good it was.

Tell us more about your traffic..

How many % is from the United States?

Getting 1.2$ eCPM with 100% fill on all countries is not normal..
Getting 1$~ eCPM with 100% fill on traffic from United States might be possible so long you dont got to many impressions per unqiue ip.

yep eCPM is last year. It having a huge drop in CPC this year

The first four countries are the supposed top paying countries and I get 70% from them, that is high for a global news site, right?
as for my visitors. I get around 3000 unique visitors per day. 90,000 monthly?

 

they have low rates now, but still I would say you should contact them and check why you have low rates, but rates are dropped a lot for me also, I am getting around same rate

 

It might be because its beginning of the year, but overall CPM decreased everywhere unfortunately, and Valueclick is not the last tier network to get into, thats 100%.(I cannot get there )

 

Anyone have any reviews on ValueClick Media?

 

Is there any other good CPM that it's easy to be accepted?

 

Valueclick Media is reputable network, since most network has low rates, so they also have low rates these days, but they are well established network, if you get accepted, I should say, even if you earn less, stick with such companies, because there is higher chances, you will always get paid, if traffic is good, unlike other new network, you never know when they will run away

 

I've written a german review about ValueClick (you can try to use Google's translation tools to translate it).

 

you can try networks like tribalfusion,adtegrity,burstmedia...

 

With your traffic you definitivelly must try these 2 cpm networks! I am using these 2 cpm networks on my 2 sites, both on both, because I have tried a lot of other cpm and cpc ads but not any of them satisfied me, my earnings was horrible. Finally I did choose these 2, because they are really the best, you will see from the first days if you decide to try them.

1. BinLayer is the best paying CPM network, they are paying between 0.30 euro/cpm and 10 euro/cpm; the minimum payment is only 15 euro PayPal or bank wire, they accepts many countries and the rates are these:



Important: if you will use BinLayer, choose the HybridAds option, because this type of ad will give you 50% bigger rates than in the list below - it means you will get 9 euro for Germany (for example) instead of 6 euro!


2. An other very good paying CPM network is Paid-To-Promote, they are paying between $1 and $8/cpm, the minimum payment is only $5, PayPal, AlertPay or WebMoney, also accepting many countries:

United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, Germany, New Zealand, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands, Peru, Portugal, Sweden, Viet Nam, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Greece.


You can try other CPM networks too, but not any of them will pay you these high rates

 

Maybe it is because your traffic don't convert which lower the CPM.

Try improving it.

Try using popcpm.com we give better rates then the current ones your using.

 

lucky you to have 20 cpm... my site is having at least 35k views a day and valueclick / conversant media is only showing 8k views and I am having 0.05 eCPM
here's the stat from my first day.



like, am I missing something or doing something wrong with the ads? I was gaining more from adversal if that's the case...adversal was giving me .10 - .11 cpm

 

Valueclickmedia has dropped rate a lot since last few months

 

is there any alternative for this? I can't go for tribal fusion yet, I still need 200k more UV/ month.

 

if you were making better in Adversal than why did you switch to valueclickmedia, is there any specific reason for not using adsense

 

I switched to valueclick just yesterday because I was reading lots of great reviews about it. I can't use adsense cause they banned me for "invalid click activity".
