Aloha, How do you price your ebooks? I have a set of 4 ebooks that I want to sell, but I have no idea how much to ask for them. I guess my price have to depend on the subject, so what would you consider a good price if they were about for example: - personal development - family/children issues - pets - cars Thank you, Mads
I would recommend the $30 to $50 price range. Keeps it affordable by all & yet not so cheap that people may discard or underestimate it.
Probably depends on length too... although I've been curious about the same things. I'm planning a few on marketing/PR, writing, and freelancing - some reports (somewhere around 10 pages likely), and some ebooks (I'm guessing around 90-ish pages, maybe more). Any thoughts on pricing based on length?
It's not about the length, it's about the value of the information. 10 pages of valuable information is better than 100 pages of crap. Not that I'm saying you would write crap
Well, in my case, I'm doing the reports to be able to offer selective information at a lower cost, and then I may offer a collective ebook with that information and more. There are several planned, mostly on PR issues (I've been asked repeatedly to write one on press releases, so I'll probably start with that), and then some on the business of being a freelance writer and things related to that. I'm definitely not planning on the "get rich quick if you dish out the dough and follow my plan" kind of ebook... strictly informative and in depth on niche business topics. Hopefully at least someone will consider the topics valuable. I'd also hopefully have similar quality in each one, so at those lengths I mentioned I was thinking maybe $30 for an ebook (around 90 pages - more if it's longer), and then $5 for reports (around 10-15 pages). I've had people say they're too low; too high... have no clue how to price them. I know some have a higher demand (like the ones I'm asked to write) than others, but I'd like a reasonably steady fee per project, since I'm planning quite a few. I just don't want them all drastically different.
subject for sure, that would be major factor to decide pricing of the ebook i would suggest pricing as under - personal development >> $29 - family/children issues >> $25 - pets >> $25 - cars >> $35
Disagree. I think the price of the ebook should (mainly) depend on the uniqueness of content. A 10page ebook on some new physics discovery is worth $XXXXX while those 50page ebay ebooks are worth less than $1.
