Finding competitor? You can look for your similar site using the heywork similar site and it will show list of similar site like yours.

If you're interested in the basic info, such as page rank, backlinks, etc., you can download SEOBook. It's a free plugin for FireFox, without any clunky features or spyware built in. I'd give you a link, but my post count is still too low. Perhaps someone else can help you, or just do a simple Google search.
You can try opensiteexplorer or KeywordSpy to find out the competitor's backlinks or sources of traffic, but some of their advance features are not free.
Spyglass is a good program to use. But for what your talking about, I would just learn how to use google like ryan said above. Thats the best way imo
I do use Alexa for comparing/analyzing the competitor website. Even there is comparison tool, with that we can enter the competitor's website and our to compare them both in stats point of view (stats means website traffic).

Yes that you can use spyglass. I been using so much system and paid for it and found that no other system and able to provide a complete reports and details as spyglass which you can check all their backlinks and keywords they target. It is the best SEO tools ever.
