31 March 2012 No longer for sale... PR now appears fake. (Not by me I might add!) Since I'm probably going to be stuck with this one long term I'm going to have to hope these guys leave their divert in place!

Selling my PR6 domain for $300

Please verify rank for yourself using any of the online tools - it is believed to be correct but obviously I cannot be responsible for any subsequent changes.

This may only be pushed to a Godaddy account.

How it is legit with no backlinks at all? How did it get PR6 then?

Don't think so! Majestic Site-Explorer would have still shown those backlinks in its history. Beside the domain's PR shows it attained PR6 in July update -2011. So no question of not showing any backlinks. Clear case of PR acquired by fraudulent means. :(

jhnrang... for my benefit if no-one else's... HOW would someone do that? I know for a fact that it isn't redirected anywhere now even if it was sometime in the past. Rank checkers indicate it is not faked and the info: tool also shows it to be right.

If there's something specific I'm missing, pleaae share what else I should be checking! You're right - it's not showing backlinks and I accept that does seem odd for a high PR domain - but how the hell could someone do that if it's not redirected?

PS... Since it was not bought at auction but had expired, the previous seller would not have benefitted from any fraud.

The simple answer is he doesn't know how it would be done, everybody in this forum is suddenly some sort of PR expert of the last couple of months and cowboys that run around accusing people.

Let me explain something very simple for all those "experts" out there. This is a clean dropped domain, the seller has not forged anything but instead is selling a dropped domain, which means the owner let it expire, the backlinks were lost, but the PR stays until the next update.

Getting so sick and tired of a certain bunch of people running around here calling everyone scammers.

Make sure you know what you're talking about you so called "experts" before accusing people.

Buyers are fully aware of this situation so leave the choice up to a buyer!

Actually, if people want traffic, they don't need it to buy it - they can have it for free. I have a membership site with over 28K members. Free traffic... help yourselves. perfecttrafficstorm dot com

As for selling this domain... that was something of an experiment. I needed some high PR domains and I had done some buying on here (no problems at all) and decided to find out what selling was like. I guess I found out...

Forget the sale... domain is now showing a divert from elsewhere. Don't know why it wasn't visible before - but obviously if I were guilty as charged I would have left it as it was ;o)

You should be selling on sites that makes it legit, such as Sedo.com. You are better to sell there and for buyers you are better and safer to buy there as well. Everything you want to know about a domain name will state it there before purchase, knowing its 100% legit.

In this instance I don't think it would have made any difference. Until a couple of days back, every possible check showed it to be PR6 without any diverts. Every rank checking tool I could find and checking with the "info:" search also showed it to be ok. It's the info: search that has now changed.

I really appreciate your honesty Lostincyberspace.

Yeah it happens even to experts to find out later your domain is not valid. Today a search info: on google is only 1 of 10s of steps you need to take before buying a domain, especially the high prs which will set you back much more money.

Archive.org is a start to make sure no redirects. Then Investigating the backlink that is supposed to hold up the pr. Then using archive.org to make sure that that backlink has been there for a while and not added later.

Unfortunately, gone are the days things were easy and transparent.
