    Guys,
There is a lot of insight to be gained from this thread.
I really liked the part about using image only ads and placing images next to ads (only according to the adsense TOC of course)

lets think you have a 100% ctr, all visitors click on ads from first page they visited but they all fly away from your content. Your suggestions are good for sites made for just money-making but eg. for my portal its also so important to make my visitor turning back the other days so i prefer a %2 ctr now for a %20, in 10 returning visits of the same user i will probably make many times above yours . Just a suggestion ;)

One more tidbit: The images-too-close-to-ads thing will likely bring you a warning first before an outright ban. Best to do it right beforehand, though.

This is true, because I get the feeling from the emails I received that since the warning, I am not allowed to use images period.

It's sort of like, the warning gives you a lifetime ban on using images, rather than a ban on your actual Adsense account.

I'd be really carefull about placing images near adsense for now.
There is a lot of buzz around on peoeple getting warned and banned from adsense on these issues.

Of course you can not implement all ideas. You can not place more than 3 ads units ;) You should pick up from those ideas just few
