But it is just 0.61 from Amazon! (Screen Shot here). And the trick is comment on high traffic site. I will tell you the site if interested. But is AMAZON for me?? will I succeed on Amazon? I am afraid it will ask me lots of effort and also lots of sales to make something out of it.
Amazon has low margins of profits so you don't get much per sale. You'd have to send so much traffic to make it worth something. I'd put my efforts somewhere else!
That is exactly what I thought. Because I have to drive a hell of traffic if I am supposed to win with Amazon. But I want to give it a shot anyways.
If targetted traffic is looking for books, then Amazon is really the place to send them. They don't convert as well overall compared to say Google, but for an alternative stream on income that is based around books, not bad.
One or two site may yield you little commission especially if they are pertaining to low priced products. If you have high priced products on your site you have more chances of earning a higher commission. Also, one site may not be get you enough income for your monthly expenses. You need to have several sites to earn a large amount of money.
If you put your affiliate link on a website that is not owned by you (e.g. a deal website, forums, commenting on blogs etc.) it is against the Amazon TOS and they will ban you. However they will only spot you if you start making a lot of money from Amazon..
I started affiliation with Amazon, but I find it's quite difficult. I'll wait to see where I am in 12 months
I have to agree. I'd use Google adsense over Amazon Affiliates. Both don't really have high revenue though. Straight selling is where I've had my success.
Ok. Since someone bumped this thread, let me add my opinion on Amazon. After I said this (the beginning of thread ) I made up to Amazon a shot. After 2 yrs I made about 900. image below. So the sales as you see it is $ 16,485.33 and commission, $903.64 which in my opinion is low. B/c had it been Clickbank, I would have banked at least half of the revenue! But Amazon gives me some satisfaction b/c I feel like I am doing real business.
Well, it all depends on the product you are marketing and your effort. If you are marketing electronic products then the profit margin will be very low. Starts from only 4%, but it increases as you refer more. The trick I believe is to create several niche sites with fresh reviews and add your affiliate link there. if you can do some SEO or PPC advertisement and your blogs do well in the search engine then you can click. Everything is how people reacts on your site. I make $30 to $100 every month with amazon. I know this is small but I also know how to increase it.
amazon and clickbank are not comparable. The profit margins are much smaller in amazon compared to clickbank, but the products are also different. getting 900 out of 16000 is not a bad deal imo.
That's great to see, you're getting something for your final efforts. Would you mind if I ask how you made profits?
I used zongrabbing plugin in many of my sites. It creates auto post of Amazon products. The good thing is you will get traffic and sales in a few days but Google kills them in a few months.
