    The maximum Sitemap size of 10 MB or 50000 URLs.

    That's of a single sitemap, you can use a sitemap index to combine multiple sitemaps though, and likewise a sitemap index of sitemap indexes - so unlimited in that respect.

    sitemaps.org is the best place to be looking for more info.

    Yes, it is called xml sitemap splitting

    a sitemap index file references the other sitemap files containing the URLs

    Yes,

    Limit of 10MB or 50000 URLs for only 1 sitemap. You can add any numbers of sitemap for a website.

    You can use multi sitemap for a website. Then submit it in Google Webmaster Tools

    I agree with biggerlol. You can use multiple sitemap for a website & submit in the webmaster tool.
