No, really? All this time, I've been waiting for rebex to tell me all about the wonders of Adsense. I mean, all those years I've been working with Adsense, slapping it on literally hundreds of sites -- and never once did I know you could blend your ads, etc etc. Thanks, rebex! You're my new hero!

i don't depend on adsense, thats 0-4% of my revenues
i would rather make something so huge that sponsors would approach me directly, or i would make a list of perspective sponsors and deal with them
its just matter of the target visitors you get to your website which can attract advertisers.

Well seems like adsense is going well for you at the moment but one thing you haven’t realized its not only the blending and placement but targeted traffic as well. Once your traffic stops converting well for the adwords advertiser you have a very high chance of being smart priced. In this case, what alternative is there for the people making a living on adsense? It can be considered good if you like dancing on thin ice. Even the people out there who claim to be "adsense gurus" do no rely on google. They come up with hundreds of adsense e-books claiming to teach you all about how to earn more with adsense, monetizing and other stuff & make money selling it.

Well it is not exactly a fight but an interesting argument but it is all about what is working well for whom. Adsense is going great for him at the moment well that is good enough for him. Nevertheless, one thing you all need to do is not force opinions on each other. People will stay happy with whatever they are doing as long as it is earning them a good income may it be adsense or affiliate programs but in the end I would say adsense is nothing as compared to how much you can make with affiliate programs.

I pesonally do not make my main income from Adsense - but I wanted to find out whether anyone out there was - the general consensus so far is "No".

But my word - you guys get very animated about things don't ya!

I'm not trying to "pick a fight" or anything even remotely resembling such. I respect your points-of-view, reserving my right to disagree.

I don't think you "took me" the way I intended. I guess it's true that sometimes it's not what you say, but rather how you say it and how it is perceived. If you knew me, you wouldn't of taken offense. I'd love to sit down and talk to you and pick your brain!

I seek and welcome the thoughts and opinions of others, especially if they're different from my own. Frankly, that's why I am here and why I joined this forum. I was excited to find a common place, ya know?

True and you're right, I'm the new kid on the block with only 24 posts. I can appreciate where you're coming from.

I am not, however, the new kid on the block when it comes to "my stuff", ya know? I've been around the block several times in the past 8 years or so, scratching out a living online.

I just want to connect with like-minds and exchange thoughts and ideas.

    Truce?:D

Relying on Adsense is very dangerous. I diversify into product sales.

I dont think it could be wise to rely on one source to the level of even quiting your day job thru adsense. something concrete should be when you are selling your stuff online and the business is good.

Something concrete is good, and adsense can prove anything but concrete. I am always paranoid my account is going to fall into trouble one way or another, and then I will be stuck with some nice hosting costs. Let alone worry about my full time income :/

About 80% of my online income comes from Affiliate sales, the other 20% comes from AdSense.

No, I have never had any success with affiliate either :/ Maybe they only work with a certain type of audience.
