so if you are serious about seo then first spend few days to study it. once you get concept about ranking you can go ahead as per your mind as no one is 100 % expert in this field.

Do the following:
0) Use Good Keywords to select appropriate target keywords.
Use moderately searched keywords
1)Use appropriate title in the pages.
2)Use the keywords in metatags
3)Use them in body text.
4)Bolden, italicize or emphasize the keywords
5)Use alt tags in images to insert keywords
6)Submit your site to directories. Around 100 directories should do.
7)Join link exchange programs and exchange links with relevent sites
8)Open blogs on blogger and blog on relevent topics. Place links to your site on the blog(s). Comment on others blogs.
9)Join in forums and make relevent posts to get backlinks.
10) Develop and Update CONTENT, CONTENT, CONTENT.

If you truly want to learn SEO the best thing you can do is find someone who has the physical proof that what they say works and follow them. You will avoid a lot of trial and error by simply finding someone who really knows what they are doing. Many experts give away free ebooks you can check out.

Of course you can safe yourself time and just hire an SEO expert but I still suggest to dedicate some time to learning what SEO is all about before you decide on spending money on someone to do the SEO for you.

There is no "quick solution". If you want to be lazy about it, then SEO is not for you. It takes a concerted effort and doesn't happen over-night (unless you go viral, but even that's not a long-term solution).
