pop-unders are annoying. If you care enough about your visitors, you should not annoy then with pop-unders.
AdSense doesn't annoy users nearly as much as popunders. You have to find a balance between annoying your users and monetizing your sitee. If your site is nothing but flashing banner and and pup up ads, no one is going to visit. If you have no ads and don't sell anything you make no money.
How about those users who don't know Adsense are just ads and expect to be taken to a part of your site somewhere and end up in the middle of some random website possibly an MFA? There are tons of large websites with annoying flashing banners and users still return, personally I think were at a point where most users are just used to seeing ads. Just my opinion though. I'm not saying put a million popunders on your site, but one for each unique visitor with a 24 hour time period in between is fine.
hm these popunders are not going very well so far.. heh. have almost 700 impressions but still not one single click, and only earned 82 cents lol.
Nice, much better than me at least Btw who are you signed up with? I decided to pull my popunders for now as it didnt give enough to make it worth it. But I will probably experiment some more with them later. And do your popunders display material related to your site, or is it completely random stuff? I only had irrelevant sites coming up.
Would it be better to display adsense, regardless of what your visitors think? I mean, I cannot see them getting more annoyed by an adblock than a popup. You would probably be earning from the ad block as well.
Honestly, no it isn't, but it really depends on the site. If I have a Myspace resource site, who cares if it's a little spammy? If I have a professional website offering some type of service then obviously you want to sell the service and want the site to look professoinal, not make money from pop unders.
Yes, if you are selling something then I guess that is a little different. Although, it depends on your view of the site. If you are hosting the site for informational purposes, then you would be more interested in visitor preference. However, if it is an aim to make a little cash, then the maximum revenue would be the strong one.
well i decided to remove the popunders.. i have been experimenting with them for 3 days now and they dont bring in much for me. Had almost 2000 impressions in total for those 3 days, but not one single click, and only made just below 3 dollars. I noticed my returning visitors decreased dramatically as well, so its not worth it for me.
