No more custom work. What is my way out (via templates)?

I have a lot of requests to design custom sites, but I either don't want to to do it because the client seems like a pain in the arse (hand holding required, lets meet up for hours and "storyboard our vision"?! etc), or because they want it done to a budget I'm not prepared to work to. I've been doing this for 10 years, and I've had enough. I want out.
    --
I want to create a site where customers can pick from a handful of basic templates and create their own hosted website - with little to no interaction required from me.
I was thinking of just designing 10 unique Wordpress templates, then populating them on behalf of the client using text & images they send to me ... but is there something else I should consider?
    --
Are there any companies with a Squarespace like service who offer an affiliate program where I can create a fully branded affiliate store that allows people to create their own mediocre website?
I do not want to generate leads, and I do not want to sell downloadable templates.
I want customers to come to my site, sign up and pay, pick a template, fill in their content, job done. I want customers to begin and end their transaction from my branded site.

Burnout huh ? Well it happens to everyone . IMHO you're way to good to go the "Dear Friends [insert Engrish]" way and ignore creativity . What burns you out are the clients . Automate that part or hire someone to do it for you . You can make a template generator with medium skills and about a week but that will only trigger more idiotic requests . Just my 0.02$

Of all the clients I've had in the last 10+ years, I can group them into 2 categories.
    1. The needy arty time wasters who require a focus group to determine what shade of turquoise to use for the 5px image borders on their website. The money is good. But it's fucking torture. Every. Step. Of. The. Way.
    2. People who have a business, want a website, give me their text and photos and let me do what I do. Final product is DONE & DUSTED in a day. They're happy, they pay me. Bye bye. We all make money.
    ---
I want to focus on client group #2, specifically Debbie in admin who has been assigned the role of getting the company "online".
She wants the job done. At 5pm she's going home to watch TV and eat frozen food. She doesn't even know what turquoise is. She just wants IT DONE.
Debbie fills in some forms, sends in some photos she took on her phone... a few days later it's all done, and we're all happy.

In your TOS charge for extra time. That way you have a way out if group 1 shows up. Create what they want, convince them it is what they want, consider it "final" and if they come crawling back, well sorry....it will now cost you X to change a font color on your site.

Ok not the best idea in the world but figured I would at least comment :). It seems that you are good at what you do, so I say get some energy drinks, or coffee, or cocaine or whatever keeps you going and take a month to create what you need yourself. The old drag and drop template. I am sure you have it pictured in your head and probably have enough copy-pasta functions kicking around to expedite the process. Just pretend you are building for client example 1, except it is you.

If you find your clients getting stuck somewhere, or asking you "how" to do something with your software at least you can adjust the software for the stupid instead of chasing another company, or ending up logging into their accounts to make the changes.

Depending on your cash-flow and if your business is not under the table you hire someone to do the bitch work. You get the clients, get the money, get them to do the work and deal with the example number 1's. Yes, you might lost out on 30% of the profits, but hey, at least you lose 100% of the aggravation. Unless of course the one you hire becomes the aggravation.

Just a few ideas kind sir

Then just make mister hipster cry blood for your time ? I get the hipsters all the time and they also drive me insane but they magically start backing off when they see the "reasonable timeframe" cause in the contract . That basically says they're entitled to a certain number of adjustments depending on the value of the contract , if they pass that limit they're charged extra , also they're not entitled to "unlimited counseling" , time costs money and yours is no different .

I do all that. I have a set fee/quote, followed by an hourly rate, etc... But it's not the money, it's the time - and the fact that I don't actually enjoy doing it anymore.
Every day I become LESS of a people person! :D
    ---
    So back to my question...
What are my options for setting up a site where the customer does it all themselves (like Squarespace), or one where they pick a design (no modification allowed!) and send me the stuff?

There are hundreds of hundreds of such website building services. It's a highly competitive niche.
For example: Wix, Webs, Weebly, Site2You, Bluevoda, Sitecube, Volusion (ecommerce website builder), ect......

They all allow you to create free websites, provides premium accounts providing a bunch of extra features and options like custom domain name, seo features, ability to display unlimited number of items in your ecommerce website and much more.

Why don't use templates from TemplateMonster http://www.templatemonster.com and create websites on their basis for your customers instead? Of course, the design won't be that custom, as you create it specifically for a client, but that can greatly save your time and nerves :)

*I reckon I can close this thread now. Thanks for the help everyone :)
I found a solution a few months ago. I'm using one of those dreaded *premium* Wordpress theme companies - running my own simplified/tweaked child themes.
All I have to do is drop in the client's content and images. Which leaves the rest of the day free for me to roll around in the dirt.
