I'm not quite sure what you're saying here; but sexual offenders are listed in California (with address, and usually photos). There's been no significant level of violent retribution upon them.

Good suggestion. That's exactly what we're doing.

Moving won't necessarily mean that you will be free of the problem. Although I have heard of areas where sex offenders are permitted to congregate, causing these numbers to mushroom.

Personally, I'd rather know who my neighbors are. In this day of anonymity it can be difficult to know who your next door neighbors are.

We're going to be moving for a variety of reasons. I'm expecting to find these offenders wherever we go. Unfortunately, I believe they're everywhere.

Once I got over the shock I've found the "keeping ourselves safe" program my kids (9 & 7) are getting at school to be really good.

We've talked about secrets, about what would happen if they "told" or spoke up about something bad and how it's really important to make sure bad people don't get away with bad actions. About how their minds are sick.

I don't think we can shield our kids from these people so we must give them the skills to limit the damage and speak out.

A friend's father abused his god son for years. He was a respected surgeon and threw away his career, wealth, marriage, family, and his oldest friends.

My hope is that the education projects mean that the children who are made victims have the courage to speak out sooner. The responsibility shouldn't be on them but, sadly, it is.

i'm glad i could grow up as a kid with the same DANGER, but without the fear injected by MASS media and this kind of WEBSITES.
    Whats next?
speed offenders? Do you know how many kids get killed in car accidents?
    Cigarette Smokers?
    Dog owners?

Don't you think NOT REGISTERED perverts are much more dangerous? so what is the use of this list?
if these people are still dangerous, why not let them in the prison?
if they are not dangerous, why have to put their face in the web?

anyway, i just heard iof these websites, can someone give me a url?

Good question. You will have to talk to psychologists who think that these people are cured or to attornies who think that these people have served an ample amount of time.

Please don't compare smokers, dog owners, or speed offenders to sex offenders. The damage done to innocent children is incomparable, something that many children live with far into their adult lives.

... or the judges who hand-out ridiculously lenient sentences.

From most everything I've read, these people cannot be changed. Once a child molester ... always a child molester. So they need to be tracked for the rest of their lives.

We have the technology to track each of these scum via GPS. That is what we should be doing.

I don't care that a predator was themselves molested as a child ... or that they were abused or neglected whatever. In those cases I'm sorry for what they went through as a child ... but as an adult they should be rounded-up and put-away or tracked forever.

Agreed. However, as you pointed out the lenient judges are a big problem as well as the civil libertarians who believe that these dirtbags have the same rights to move around society as everyone else.

GPS is one way to handle it...let's see if the ACLU gets behind it!

I don’t think that it is a good thing to know such things, it is better to watch your kids. To live being afraid will turn your life into a misery.
