    Most of the signature links are no follow links. However it contributes in increasing awareness about your products/services you are offering. It can help people land on the perfect page thereby reducing their time. Also signatures can be tweaked as per your wish. Similarly if you have a new product or service, you can promote it through your signature link. Even if 2 people out of 10 who click on the link convert, its a good sign.

    Yes, signature helps to get back links towards the site but for that you will have to put signatures in high pr sites because getting back links from this kind of site is counted as the quality back links whom search engine gives important at the time of ranking.

    Yeah... I think, signature links are very helpful for us that get backlink. But some forum don't allow us to place some signature link.

    Well yes signature links are also counted as back links.You can check your backlinks in any back link checker tool and you may find signature links as well.Forum links may not be a heavily weighted link, but its a link, and it drives traffic.

    From my experience yes it is effective to include a link in your signature line on forum posts. Just don't overdo it with hyperbole such as "Check out my link" "Click Here" and other such nonsense. If a link shortner is in place depending on the forum be sure to clearly name where the link is going. Don't just say My Blog instead say something like My Tech Blog. That gives those interested at least an idea of what your blog is about before they click.

    In most of the cases (for nofollow forums) signature links can be used to gain direct and targeted traffic.

    No matter these backlinks are no-follow, it is very useful to get links, if the website has a high authority! Because each backlinks will help you in ranking (just quality links will give you more weight in your SERP!) :)
