    Well.. if one has a large number of Facebook likes it means there is relevant information on that page which ultimately drives traffic to your website. So the most basic function is to promote the services/Products through such fan pages and it can help in bringing traffic to your website ! But the thing is to post quality and relevant information on such fan pages and in return you will get traffic which will help your business to groom well in market.

    Simple: to spread the LINK. It helps in building backlinks. Supposedly, you liked a certain page, all of your friends will see the status update of that page.

    NB ---> But the Like Button of the facebook has the popularity in very short time. So many of the user have the tendency to click on the LIKE BUTTON without reading the post, whether it was likable or not.
