    Google Trends tells you how popular a keyword has been over a certain period of time.

    Google Adword tool is is an advertising service by Google for businesses wanting to display ads on Google and its advertising network. The ad service is largely focused on keywords.

    Use the keyword tool if you want to create a post that will collect slow steady traffic. Use trends if you want a post that will capture a lot of traffic in the short term.

    If you want to write newsworthy content that has a chance of going viral you need to write about topics that are trending up. About a month ago everybody was writing about Jeremy Lin. If you want to be a catchy up to the minute news source go in that direction. If you want to play the long game use the keyword tool and write content that will be relevant for years to come. Hopefully it will rank well for those terms and then you will get a slow steady stream of traffic over the course of a few years.

    I only used Google Adwords Keyword Tool and Google Trends sounds very trendy. I will surely try to use Google Trends. Thanks for the helpful info.

    Google trend predicts about the future of the keywords an shows some past historical data related that query.whereas ad word tool only shows the preset status of that query.and that is is the major difference
