i'm still learning SEO everyday, new things, yada yada yada and i wanna give this web 2.0 business a try. from what i hear "link wheels" are frequently used, but there's a rumor going around that the big G will penalize you for detected link wheels. so what i was thinking was, just creating a bunch of web 2.0 profiles, NOT linking them together (in a wheel) and just have them link and direct to my website. good idea? bad idea? thoughts? and... how does one go about setting up a web 2.0 profile for SEO \ traffic purposes. for example when working with wordpress.com, do i create multiple posts, each having a link directing to my website, or do i just do a single link in a single post directing to my website? thanks in advanced
Well I must clear your point..... The Link Wheel will not get banned at all as many of the big companies are using this strategy.... As long as you are fair and not doing anything bad that is against G's TOS you will not get penalized.... Google only Blocks Link Exchange or Reciprocal Links and that's what we don't use and avoid in Link Wheels.... If you want to create multiple profiles and link them direct to your website, that is always a great idea.... By this you will have all direct backlinks which are more beneficial that link wheels..... Last question is multiple posts.... 1 link from 1 website profile would be great as it avoids the thinking that you have spammed or tried to spam.....
I second his views, I would like to add one more thing though.....try to make your profiles look professional - add all the possible detail that you can with a picture if possible....that'll make your profile look genuine as well, they also have a higher chance of indexing because Google can actually find some content on those pages.
This will be the most beneficial thing for your website (Create a lot of profiles using your website in your signature or in your profile.. But, just a quick suggestion, don't use the same keyword each time!)
