I've had a video sharing site online for over a year: http://www.laptime.tv I relaunched it on a new platform in November 2011. In the past month I've received over 16,000 pageviews and earned a whopping 35¢ from AdSense. What am I doing wrong??
improve your ad positioning your video is to big Try other ads like cpa Also look at your niche it seems specific to racing so look for racing cpa offers and car offers. you can also try buysellads they will sort out who advertises and you get a fixed rate per month dont have to worry about the traffic clicking then.
Yep, ads on your pages should stand out and to me they just blend into the background.. But tbh, I don't think adsense may be right for your type of site... look for CPA offers as bigmac suggested.. plus the adsense ads I'm seeing now are quite untargeted to your niche which could explain your low CTR - I don't know whether that is a lack of keywords on your site or whatever I think you would have better luck with targeted offers or affiliate products, shop around and find something thats suitable for your niche, I'm sure you will stumble across something
Your Google adsense ads only placed in one location in your website. Increase your ads placement. your earning automatically increase.
Try image/rich media only ads. People who are searching for videos have less interest to click text ads.
apart from improving ad placement you must use muliple ads I see only one adsense ad running at the site per page...you can add upto 4 I think.
Best thing for video and game sites is CPA. But you can also make users wait and show them ads for 5-10 seconds, before switching to videos. This way you would get more clicks.
Although this may be true with earning more revenue, you will deter users from continuing to use your site. If you are planning to grow your site, keep the ad's as less annoying as possible, because the end result you are looking for are visitors to your site! I know this well because I run a video entertainment site. I get about 50,000 page views a day and my Adsense earnings aren't all that hot either. But I'm looking down the line when I can get 100,000 + viewers daily then you get a lot of monetizing options. Until then, reposition your ad spots, add more ads from different advertisers, you'll earn more that way. Just my 2 cents, Good luck!
