Your thoughts on phpfox.com

Does anyone on here currently use phpfox.com and if so what are your thoughts on it? I am concidering purchasing a licence but not sure how good it is. Also if anyone has a link to thier own customised site that would be good as well so I can see what is possible.

Also would love to know how easy (and cheap) it would be to have a template created for it.

There are only just a few good social networking scripts around.
Actually 3 well known and solid, they exist for many years already and have good support too and private forums.

phpFox - http://www.phpfox.com (the best of the 3)

    Social Engine - http://www.socialengine.net

Jomsocial - http://www.jomsocial.com (this is a Joomla component, Joomla itself is free)

    Of course phpFox - http://www.phpfox.com

You should go for the Community version to have all its features.
    Powerful and stable script.
    Elgg doesn't come even close....

Wow I just checked the latest version and have to say I'm impressed!

I had many licenses from phpfox and sold them years ago...

The new updated version looks quite sophisticated... Anyone on here using it?

Phpfox is a good script, easy to work with & customize. We worked a lot with Social Engine V3 but are not too keen on V4. Elgg is ok & Wordpress/Buddypress is improving.

Depending what kind of site you have in mind, we would recommend the chinese opensource social network script UCenter Home, you can download a correctly translated and bug-fixed copy from our site, link in our signature.
