Advertise your site a little, pomote it on relevant forums, submit it to link directories, put it in your signatures, and even setup an adwords account. As mentioned before, making more sites is a great way of increasing your income, even if those new sites have similar content.
Increase traffic Make more sites Experiment with ad placements / types Experiment with blending techniques (do then blend too well? Perhaps make them stick out slightly so they're noticed). Have patience! Work slowly and methodically and it will happen! Never give up! DoA
When you guys create a number of sites do you mainly use organic seo on them and do you know any hosting companies with package deals. I have started to acquire more sites and I'd like to find some package deals for hosting.
i don't think it's that simple. some people are making thousands a month by just one or two sites. i think the key is the content. and links to your site. yes, you can have 10 different sites on the same (or varied) topics, but it's not very feasible because you (if you're alone) cannot optimize and work for each of them as much as is needed... we've suffered this once. when our $ jumped (july 06) it was because we were adding new content every day, getting links back to our site every day, and continuously monitoring progress (site stats, analytics, etc).
I agree. You could have 1 site and then you could have 50 sites and you could still make no money. 1 site could make more than 100 sites. It all depends on the popularity of your site / s. If they or it is not popular then you will make no money. Basically there is more chance of making one site popular compared to what there is making a bunch of sites popular. This is because you have much more time to spend on it and your visitors will notice this.
Try to optimize your site for the right keywords. The traffic increase may not be instantaneous but will reward you in the future. Also your revenue depends on what you sell. If you are just going to make money from adsense, you can not make much from one site. You have to offer something useful to the readers and pursuade them to buy something valuable to them. It is then win win situation for the readers and you too.
The best that I can give you is this... Look way beyond your little niche! By this, I mean, if your niche is "real estate website development" - then you need to be going after... all 50 states real estate website development, real estate seo, different types of companies offering real estate website development, etc... I recently had a cell phone site that I built that was very niche. I was ranking #1 for all the major keywords related... I had tapped out the market and was only making about $8/day. So what I did was take the same content and the same keywords and targeted them for international traffic as well as found complimentary keywords and built content for those topics. My # 1 rule of SEO....dominate your long-tail keywords and then expand until you have dominated the more pure form of your keywords.
Is there anyway you can expand on your niche? For example if your niche is blue widgets, would it be possible to have pages on red widgets, green widgets, etc
These are the sites that dilute and ruin the internet Making one good website is far better than 10 websites just due to the fact that you aren't focusing on one site. You'll end up neglecting all the sites. Sorry for being blunt
I prefer to just focus on a few sites. Some people have 200 or more sites. I think that is to many. The fewer sites you have the more you will work on them and the more you will get attached to them which means that you will want to make them better all the time. This only ends up adding value to the internet, but making 100's of sites is not really adding much value to the internet. Just my opinion though and others may differ.
A lot of people seem to agree that having more sites is a good way to increase revenue. Is But making multiple sites for the same niche feasible I think having multiple site with various niches is more feasible.
You might want to use the adsense competetive ad filter to block low paying ads and sites such as MFA (made for adsense). You can read more about it in my blog post titled Adsense Competitive Ad Filter @ http://ohad-news.blogspot.com/2006/11/adsense-competitive-ad-filter.html
This is the best piece of advice on this thread. This is how I quit my "Day Job" 4 years ago. First You Get The Money, Then You Get The Power to make more money.
1) Increase the traffic 2) Build more pages 3) Build more sites I personally think that building more sites is more profitable on a long run basis. Me too, have more than 3 sites, targetting different niche and model.
Yes, but you have to have relevant content an information before you build more sites...especially if you want noticable visitors which will up your click rate.
So would it be better to expand one domain into many subsections, especially if it is already getting decent traffic? For instance, I have a domain that I been operating since 2003 that I want to get more traffic to. So should I add more pages on different topics or purchase new domains for this? I'm thinking adding more subject areas would be much easier.
